A software engineer from Nalgonda was shot dead by an unidentified person in Maryland state of the United States.
Nakka Sai Charan (26) was killed when a person said to be black opened fire at him on Sunday evening.
Charan was son of Nakka Narsimha and Padma, residents of Vivekananda Colony in Nalgonda town.
His parents got the information from US about the death of their son on Monday evening. Charan's friends in the US informed the family about the incident.
Charan was reportedly shot dead when he was travelling in his car near Catonsville in Maryland. He was returning home after dropping a friend at the airport when he was shot in the head.
He was shifted to the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Charan was working with a company in Baltimore for the last two years.
His parents and other family members were shocked on receiving the information, and a pall of gloom descended on Vivekananda Colony after news of Charan's death was telecast in news channels. Narsimha is a retired teacher and well-known in the colony.
The family members appealed to both the State and the union governments to help bring the body home.
