Naidu's Rally Sham: Lakshmi Parvathi

NTRTDP (LP) President Lakshmi Parvathi said that a corrupt leader like Chandrababu Naidu had no moral right to spearhead anti-corruption rallies.
Hyderabad | 11th April 2011
Reacting to the anti-corruption foot-march undertaken by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu, NTR Telugu Desam Party (LP) President Lakshmi Parvathi on Monday criticized Naidu, and said that he had no moral right to spearhead anti-corruption rallies.

Earlier, on Saturday, Naidu had urged the government to confiscate the properties of all corrupt persons, and said that bureaucratic officials and politicians should be targeted first.

Commenting on the TDP President's statement, the late former Chief Minister NTR's wife Lakshmi Parvathi charged that he should be the first one to be cornered.

Calling the rally a big sham, Lakshmi Parvathi said that hypocrisy will not get Naidu any political mileage. "He is the most corrupt politician in the history of Andhra Pradesh, and had not even spared his father-in-law's property when he (NTR) had passed away," she said.

Chandrababu Naidu had undertaken the cited rally on Sunday in support of Anna Hazare's fight against corruption.
