The Nagoba jatara, a prominent tribal festival of the Gonds, began on Sunday on a grand note. People of the Mesram clan of Keslapur village reached the jatara site with water from the holy Ganges. The "jalabhishekam" to the deity, Nagobha, will be performed on Tuesday night.
Besides believers from Adilabad, devotees from the neighboring states of Maharashtra and Chattisgarh, too, poured in for the festival.
Arrangements made by the state government ensured that the devotees did not face any inconvenience during the tribal fair.
