Tragedies took place during Holi celebrations in the undivided Adilabad district today.

Five people died after going for baths after their Holi celebrations.

In the first instance, four youths who had gone to bathe in the Wardha river in Kautala mandal of Komurambhim district went missing, and their bodies were eventually recovered.

The deceased have been identified as Santhosh, Praveen, Kamalakar and Sai from Nadimabad.

The bodies were shifted to Kautala Hospital.

The deaths of the youths cast a pall of gloom over the village.

In another incident, another young man died after going to bathe in the lift irrigation canal at Thanimadugu in Dandepalli mandal of Manchiryala district.

The man has been identified as Karthik, a resident of Dharmaram village in Jannaram mandal.
