Former minister Motkupalli Narasimhulu today created a flutter at the Tank Bund.
Standing with a can of pesticide near NTR Ghat, Motkupalli regretted defending Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
"Earlier, I had said that I would die if Dalit Bandhu was not implemented. And now it is clear that Dalit Bandhu is not being implemented. Dalit youth are sending messages to me asking me to die. They want me to keep my word at Yadagirigutta. If KCR gives a muhurat, I will drink grass pesticide and die if injustice is done to the dalits," he told mediapersons gathered at the location.
He said derisively that KCR did not value his own word and would not die for anything, but that he (Motkupalli) was going to die for not keeping his promise. He said that he had gone when KCR had personally called him to come for the launch of the Dalit Bandhu scheme, and that he had supported KCR saying that the Dalit Bandhu scheme would benefit the dalit community, but that he had now realised that the CM was the "care of address" for frauds.
KCR did not even give a ministerial berth to the Madiga community, he said.
Commenting on the arrest of TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu, Motkupalli said that if any harm befell Naidu, the BJP, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and KCR would be held responsible.
He alleged that the union and the State governments were conspiring against Naidu, preventing him from getting bail and trying to put his entire family in jail, and trying to even kill him. However, Naidu would return triumphant, and Jagan's party candidates would not even get their deposits in AP in the coming elections, Motkupalli said.
"With Chandrababu Naidu's arrest, the settlers are angry with KCR. The BRS will lose 30 seats in the Greater Hyderabad limits due to that. In protest against the conspiracy against Chandrababu, I have decided not to celebrate Dasara," he said.
He also said that Sonia Gandhi had given statehood to the Telangana region, and that the people of the State should give one chance to the party. However, on a remonstrative note against his own party, he said that Revanth Reddy was going to everyone's house but not coming to his house as he was a dalit. He said that no party would come to power if dalit votes were not cast for it. He also said that if the Tungathurthi seat was not given to him it would be a loss for the Congress, and that a weak candidate would result in the seat being won by the BRS.
