The Congress today demanded that the state government give clarity on the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme, including on the allocation of funds for it.
Taking part in a discussion on the implementation of the scheme in the Assembly, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress had always craved for the development of the dalits and the poor people of Telangana, and that the party wanted the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
However Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao needed to give complete clarity on the scheme, and the Asembly would be in a position to take up a meaningful discussion on the implementation of the scheme only after a clarification by the government on how it would mobilise the funds needed for the implementation of the scheme, he said.
He also demanded that the CM implement the scheme in all the 119 Assembly constituencies of the state and not only in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency, and take steps to avoid any kind of politics in the identification of the beneficiaries of the scheme.
He also sought that the government appoint representatives of recognised political parties in the committees related to the scheme, and take their suggestions and views for the implementation of the scheme.
Vikramarka also asked the government to implement a similar scheme for the economically weaker sections of the state.
