At least 3 persons were killed when the roof of a building collapsed in the busy Monda Market in Secunderabad.

At least 3 persons were killed when the roof of a building collapsed in the busy Monda Market in Secunderabad.

The incident occurred when labourers were working on repairs for Punjab Bar & Restaurant in Monda Market.

Officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Officials pressed proclaims to remove the debris. So far, 2 bodies were recovered from the debris. A search is on for the remaining bodies, if any. The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.

4 adjoining shops were also damaged due to building collapse.

Meanwhile, City Police Commissioner A K Khan said that stringent action would be initiated against the hotel owner for violating building laws.

Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, MLA Sasidhar Reddy and BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya visited the spot. (INN)
