The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) entered the third day of its week-long drive to demolish illegal constructions across Greater Hyderabad, and has razed more than 300 buildings and laid waste to around 100 layouts by digging holes in the adjacent roads and pulling down walls around the yard.
Demolition teams of the HMDA on Wednesday alone pulled down at least 30 structures and 10 layouts in Beeramguda of Patancheru mandal, Nizampet and Korremula of Ghatkesar mandal, and other places.
Speaking to the media, an officer in the HMDA said that they wouldn't stop the drive at any cost.
"We will continue for as long as it takes. Apart from pulling down structures, we will also educate the general public on identifying safe real estate investments so that their hard-earned money wouldn't go to waste," he said.
