The Election Commission of India (ECI) today released the schedule for the MLC elections for six seats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Polling is set for February 27, and the results will be declared on March 3.
In Telangana, elections will be held for one graduates' and two teachers' constituencies - the Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad graduates' MLC seat, and the teachers' constitiency MLC seats of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda.
Sitting MLCs T Jeevan Reddy, Kura Raghottam Reddy and Alugubelli Narsireddy currently represent these constituencies.
For Andhra Pradesh, the elections will take place for one teachers' and two graduates' MLC constituencies. The constituencies include the combined Godavari and the Krishna-Guntur graduates' constituency seats, and the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam teachers' seat.
The notification for the elections will be issued on February 3, and nominations will be open until February 10. The scrutiny of the nominations will take place on February 11, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until February 13.
The Model Code of Conduct will be enforced in the districts where the elections are scheduled.
