The Election Commission of India today announced the schedule for the elections for the vacant MLC seats under the MLAs' quota in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
There are six MLC seats vacant since June 3 in Telangana. Likewise, three MLC seats fell vacant on May 31 in Andhra Pradesh.
The notification will be issued on November 9, and aspirants can file nominations till November 16.
The EC will conduct the scrutiny of the nominations on November 17, and candidates will be given time till November 22 to withdraw their nominations.
The polling will be conducted on November 29, and the results will be announced on the same day.
The six MLC seats in Telangana fell vacant after the retirement of Akula Lalitha, Mohamed Fariduddin, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, N Vidya Sagar Rao, Kadiam Srihari and B Venkateshwarlu.
The three seats in Andhra Pradesh fell vacant after the retirement of Somu Veera Raju, Chinna Govinda Reddy and Mohammed Sharief.
The EC had postponed elections for these seats earlier due to the coronavirus crisis.
