Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar today launched a scathing attack on BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his critical comments against the TRS government and its leaders, including Ajay Kumar himself.
Speaking after participating in the centenary celebrations of the Khammam Co-operative Agriculture Bank and in various developmental programs, the minister said, "Since the leaders of the BJP, including Bandi Sanjay, keep threatening to get the CM arrested, I challenge them to put me in jail first."
"The fact that the BJP has not been able to bring any serious charges against the government, despite its repeated allegations, shows the party's propensity to carry out misinformation campaigns. This is condemnable," he said.
Kumar targeted Bandi specifically for "deliberately attempting to malign the TRS government and the state's ministers".
"Sanjay has made various allegations against the TRS and its leaders, including me. I am an upright and honest minister, and if he can prove that I have indulged in any sort of corruption, I will resign immediately," he said.
Lashing out at the BJP for its failure to secure flood relief funds for the state, the minister said, "The state attracts some tourists every time the elections are near. Unlike them, we invest a lot of thought, effort and capital into developing our state. So, we must not pay too much mind to them. The Congress is our rival, and not the BJP."
Minister S Niranjan Reddy also voiced his agreement for Kumar's views, and accused the BJP leaders of trying to get mileage by spreading lies.
Bandi has invited
much censure for making several allegations against Puvvada Ajay Kumar during his recent tour of Khammam. Some TRS leaders even called him a "galli leader" (alley goon) following the incident.
