Lakshma Reddy Labours For A Hour, Gets 5 Lakhs
The Telangana health minister did this as part of the ruling TRS' initiative to perform manual labour to raise money for the party's public meeting in Warangal.
With the date of the TRS public meeting at Warangal fast approaching, the ministers and party leaders are working in hotels and hospitals in the city to mobilize money to meet the expenditure to be incurred on transporting the public to the venue of the meeting and other incidental charges.
On Saturday, Health Minister Dr Cherlakola Lakshma Reddy did manual labour in Yashoda Hospitals in the posh Somajiguda area.
During his hour-long work in the hospital, Dr Reddy transported a wheelchair carrying an old patient from the first floor to the ground floor, shifted another patient to his ward on a stretcher, and performed dressing on an orthopedic patient.
For the minister's one-hour labour, the management of Yashoda Hospitals presented him a cheque for Rs 5 lakhs as remuneration.
