Many Popular Citizens Praise Disha Rapists' Encounter

Several popular persons praised the encounter of Disha's four rapist-murderers today.

Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his happiness over the encounter. Taking to the social media, he commended the act of the police, and expressed hope that such acts would act as a deterrent and create a fear in all those who contemplated such heinous crimes against women.

He also said that the soul of Disha would now rest in peace, and that the encounter would also have provided the much-needed relief to the parents of Disha, too.

Chilkur Balaji temple chief priest C S Rangarajan said that he was proud of the Telangana police for the encounter. He exhorted advocates and human rights activists who were condemning the act of the police by terming it irresponsible, to keep silent.

Goshamahal BJP MLA T Raja Singh, too, praised the police for the encounter. He said that he was bowing before the Telangana police for their bold act, and condemned the statement of MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi that there should be an inquiry into such encounters. He said that the people of the entire country were with the Telangana police.

Meanwhile, the Centre sought a report on the encounter. The Union Home Ministry reportedly directed the State government and the police to submit a report on the encounter and on the case. It is however routine that the Centre seeks reports from States with regard to encounters. The police have to submit details to the Centre of the case after getting the post-mortem reports.
