The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) team, in Hyderabad to investigate the encounter killings of the four accused in the Disha rape and murder case, today got information from injured policemen ASI Venkateshwarlu and constable Arvind Goud, and other officials involved, on the specifics of the encounter.

The police officials also submitted a report on the encounter, the post-mortem reports, and the forensic and other related information on the encounter, to the NHRC.

The NHRC team has been in the city for three days now to get details on the encounter. It started its probe from the Mahabubnagar district where it went to see the bodies, and later inspected the incident spot at Chatanpally.

Separately, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagwat, who has been appointed the chief of an SIT comprising eight officials, has also begun a probe into the encounter on behalf of the government.

Meanwhile, the government shifted the bodies of the accused in an AC vehicle to Gandhi Hospital from Mahabubnagar district followed by a direction from the High Court.

The High Court had asked the State government to preserve bodies of the accused till Friday.

While the Supreme Court will hear the case on the encounter deaths on Wednesday, the Telangana High Court will hear it again on Thursday.

Instant justice by the TS cops have won many people and plaudits. At the same time, it also invited the wrath oh NHRC. But, we all know this toothless organization can all do is recommend some action against the law breakers to the state government. I really don't think, this could have been possible without the support of the state government. Though, I am not a fan of violence, I would like to believe that the cops have double checked all the 4 people were culprits in Disha case. Else, its the innocent's immediate family who will live in pain for the rest of their lives
