Suspecting his wife's fidelity, a man brutally hacked her to death late on Monday night with the help of a sharp sickle at Sherkhanpalli village in the Medak district.
According to Sub-Inspector Sanjay, Raju (35) had attacked his 30-year-old wife Lakshmi while she was fast asleep.
The attack on her neck and head left her dead on the spot.
Sanjay said that Raju used to doubt his wife's character, and quarreled with her almost every day.
Lakshmi's body has been shifted to a government hospital for autopsy.
Raju has been arrested and will be soon taken into judicial custody. A case has been registered under the section 302 IPC. (INN)
