In a barbaric and gruesome incident, the body parts of a man were recovered from 6 different places of Nalgonda, early on Monday.
According to Nalgonda Inspector Ravinder, investigations into the macabre crime began early on Monday, after police received information that a decapitated head of a male was lying opposite the telephone exchange building in Prakash Bazaar.
Even before the police could come to terms with the gruesome find, they received information that a human leg was lying at V T Colony. The other leg was found at the Nalgonda bus stand.
Soon enough, reports of a torso without limbs and a head was discovered at a place under Devarakonda police station limits.
One dismembered hand was found at Chityal, while another was found at Narketpally.
The police from the 6 different police stations contacted one other and brought the respective body parts to the government hospital for autopsy.
With all the parts being found, the victim was identified as one Appalnaidu, a resident of Guntur. The police believed that he was around 35 years of age.
Considering the barbarity of the crime, the police believe that the brutal hacking was the result of old enmity. They also believe that the discarding of body parts in 6 different places may have been an attempt to mislead the police and to delay the revelation of the victim's identity.
The brutality of the killing and the discarding of the body parts in different places could also be evidence of the deep animosity the killer or killers may have held against Appalnaidu.
As in these cases, the police station in whose precincts the head was discovered will be responsible for the investigations. A case under section 302 IPC has been registered.
