Inspired by the She-Teams of the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police departments, the Maharashtra State Police is planning to form its own She-Teams to ensure women's safety.
The department sent a team to Hyderabad on 23rd July to understand how Hyderabad's She-Teams functioned. One Additional SP and four Deputy SPs from Solapur, Pune, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur visited the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
The Maharashtra officials sought to know all the safety protocols and protection initiatives taken up by the Hyderabad police.
The Cyberabad Commissioner of Police interacted with the team and gave a detailed presentation on crime against women and the advantages of having She-Teams. Later, the visiting officials attended the She-Team counselling session and interacted with some of the people accused of crimes against women, and with their families, and took the feedback from the counsellors, too.
Appreciating the efficiency of the teams and all the efforts taken by them to ensure the safety of women in Telangana, the Maharashtra State Police officials decided to go ahead with their plans to establish their own She-Teams in their State, and expressed hope that it would be successful.
