Cyberabad SHE Teams Handle 225 Complaints In January

During January 2020, a total of 12 eve-teasers were caught red-handed by the Cyberabad SHE Teams, at bus stops and other public places.

A total of 11 SHE Teams are working in Cyberabad to cater to the security needs of women and children. In the last month, the SHE Teams received 225 complaints from women through different means including Whatsapp, email, Hawkeye and direct walk-ins. All the complaints were acted upon and disposed of, the officers said. The SHE Teams registered 75 cases out of which 17 were criminal and 58 were petty.

277 decoy operations were also conducted at various places including bus stops, shopping malls, railway stations, tutorials, colleges and so on in the month.

The SHE Teams also conducted 181 awareness programs, where 33,229 people were addressed. Counselling sessions were held on January 4 and 18. All eve-teasing accused attended the sessions conducted at the Commissioner's office in Gachibowli, along with their family members. They were counselled by professional counselors from the Bharosa Centre, Cyberabad. Minor respondents were counselled by clinical psychologists in the presence of their parents.
