Telangana Congress leaders, on Monday, met at Peddapalli MP Vivekananda's residence on Monday to discuss disbursing financial assistance to the next to kin of those who purportedly committed suicide for the cause of Telangana.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, MP Manda Jagannatham said that the meeting was organized to discuss modalities for disbursing financial assistance at the third Martyrs' convention to be held at Mahabubnagar on October 23.
Jagannatham revealed that it was decided to give Rs. 1 lakh as compensation to the next of kin of the 11 victims who laid down their lives for the cause of T-state.
The Telangana leaders will start from Shamshabad on October 22 and be welcomed on the way to Mahabubnagar at Attapur.
Civil Supplies Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, Minister for Small Scale Industries D K Aruna, and other MPs, MLAs and MLCs attended the meeting.
