BSP leader and former MP Manda Jagannatham's nomination was rejected by the Election Commission due to the lack of a B-form.
Manda filed his nomination on behalf of the Bahujan Samaj Party for the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha seat. The last date for nominations for the fourth phase of the elections in which Telangana is to vote, ended on Thursday, and the election officials examined the nominations today. And they rejected the nomination of Manda after scrutiny.
A person by name Yusuf filed his nomination with the B-form from the BSP.
Manda did not even get a chance to contest as an independent candidate - a minimum of 10 voters have to sign on the nomination papers of independent candidates, but in Manda's nomination only 5 voters marked their signatures. As a result, he lost the opportunity to contest for an MP seat.
Manda joined the BSP from the Congress 10 days ago.
He had joined the Congress in the presence of TPCC chief Revanth Reddy during the Telangana Assembly elections. As his son Srinath did not get the Alampur Assembly ticket, he had left the BRS and joined the Congress.
However, when he was not given the ticket for the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha seat election by the Congress, he joined the BSP. He went to Rajasthan and joined the BSP in the presence of BSP chief Mayawati in the party's headquarters for the Alwar district. Mayawati had announced on the spot that the Nagarkurnool ticket would be given to him.
