T-"Martyrs'" Kin Seek Ex-Gratia
Family members of those who died in the Telangana Movement were held by the police when they tried to enter the TRS building forcibly while demanding ex-gratia.
The family members of those who laid down their lives for the cause of the Telangana movement, on Sunday, tried to lay siege to the Telangana Bhavan under the banner of Telangana Amaraveerula Kutumbala Ikya Vedika (TAKIV), demanding financial support for the family members of the deceased.
Raising 'Jai Telangana' slogans in front of the Telangana Bhavan building, the family members of the deceased demanded that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao extend Rs. 5 lakh as compensation to each family, to make efforts to provide them government jobs, and to provide a pucca house to each family.
When the protestors tried to barge into the Telangana Bhavan, the TRS activists had a heated argument with them.
Sensing trouble, the police took the agitators into custody, and shifted them to a nearby police station.
The protest came at a time when the TRS chief was addressing political leaders from Nizamabad who had joined the party.
