Actor Rajesh, who was arrested 5 days ago based on allegations by his landlord, Subbarao, of assault and wrongful confinement, has a few allegations to make, himself. According to the actor of Young India fame, his landlord used his political connections to force the police to arrest him.
Implicating that the landlord of his apartment in Kukatpally had been harassing him since the time they shifted there, Rajesh said that on the 5th of this month, several residents of the complex had even conducted a protest against the harassment, adding that they had even filed a complaint against Subbarao a few years back to no avail.
According to Subbarao, Rajesh had apparently got into a fight with Subbarao at 2 in the morning on 6 January for on no prococation, after which Rajesh had locked Subbarao up in the latters apartment.
Vehemently denying the accusations, Rajesh insisted that Subbarao was using his political infuencle to victimise him, and that the police were firmly in the latter's pocket.
Rajesh's sister attested to the same, saying that that very night at around the same time, the both of them had been returning home. "He started voicing indecent assuptions on what we were doing out so late at night, despite the fact that I am Rajesh's sister!" she said.
Rajesh alleged that the police furnished him with no reason for arrest, and that they had not been willing to listen to anything he had to say. "Thus, they tortured me for 2 days, and only in front of Subbarao. When Subbarao was not around, they were nice to me. This is obviously a case of an arbitrary grudge against me. Let them go through the normal court proceedings. Let them furnish evidence of my 'wrongdoings'. I have no objection. But, this is very, very wrong," railed the actor.
