Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, on Monday, claimed that his son Arvind had not assaulted anyone.
Speaking to media representatives after participating in the Holi celebrations at Indira Park, Anjan Kumar Yadav strongly reacted to the Hussaini Alam police's booking a case against his son for allegedly beating up a constable on Sunday night near Golla Khidi.
While Yadav admitted that Arvind had been present at the scene of the incident, he also claimed that the latter had neither caused the traffic jam by lighting a bonfire on the road nor had he assaulted anyone.
Defending his son, Anjan Kumar Yadav said that a large number of people had participated in the Holi revelry which might have led to the traffic jam and later, a rift had taken place.
It may be mentioned here that the Hussaini Alam police booked a case against Arvind Yadav, stating that he had allegedly beaten up a constable named Vamshi when the cop had objected to the bonfire burning on the road.
Vamshi was later admitted to a hospital for treatment and the police registered a case under Sections 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC against Arvind.
