Expelled Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Friday expressed regret over the pepper spray incident during the tabling of the Telangana Bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons in Delhi, Lagadapati said that he felt guilty about Thursday's incident, but also defended his action by reiterating that he had used the pepper spray only in self-defence.
"I went into the well to protect an MP from another state from the Congress MPs. Some MPs attacked us with the support of the Congress High Command. They also manhandled us. I used pepper spray only for self-protection," he claimed.
Rajagopal held the Congress High Command responsible for the incident. He also said he had no intention to hurt anyone. (INN)
