Labour Minister Danam Nagender on Friday said that there is no difference between Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and terrorists.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party Office in Hyderabad, Danam said that while terrorists attacked the Parliament from outside, Lagadapati carried out the attack (
read about the incident here) within the Lok Sabha. Describing the pepper-spray incident as an act which put the entire country to shame, he demanded that Lagadapati and other MPs from the Seemandhra region be suspended from the Lok Sabha permanently.
Danam alleged that the Seemandhra MPs had behaved in an unruly manner in the House only to prepare ground to launch a new party. He said that their action would not be viewed seriously by the people of the Seemandhra region, who he said, consider Lagadapati a "joker".
He said all these MPs had got elected on the Congress ticket and were now trying to humiliate Congress president Sonia Gandhi. He also accused the MPs of trying to insult a Dalit Speaker.
The minister said that a lot of action is expected in the State Legislative Assembly during the debate on the Telangana Bill. However, the shameful act that occurred in Parliament has brought disrepute to the nation, he said. (INN)
