Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Friday demanded that the Central government register a criminal case against Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for the pepper spray incident in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Ponguleti said that an "attempt to murder" case should be booked against Lagadapati for his violent actions in the Lok Sabha on Thursday during the tabling of the Telangana Bill. He demanded that stern action be taken against all Seemandhra MPs who resorted to violence in the House.
Ponguleti also accused the BJP and TDP of having a dual stand on the Telangana issue. He said that the people of Telangana would teach a fitting lesson to the TDP, YSRCP and BJP for their anti-Telangana moves. He also said that TDP leaders have no moral right to criticise AICC president Sonia Gandhi on the Telangana issue. (INN)
