AP Chief Minister and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu today appealed to the people of Telangana to defeat the TRS and its president K Chandrashekar Rao for deceiving them.
Participating in an election campaign in support of the Praja Kutami (called Mahakootami earlier) candidate for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections in Rajendranagar, Naidu described KCR as "junior Modi", and accused him of adopting wrong policies and ruining the infant state.
Criticising the functioning of the Modi government at the Centre and the KCR government in Telangana, Naidu accused both Modi and KCR of deceiving the people with false promises. It was to protect democracy both in Telangana and in the country that the TDP had joined hands with the Congress, with which it had fought for over three decades, Naidu said.
He also said that he had no intention of governing Telangana, and that if the Praja Kutami was voted to power, a Congress candidate would be the Chief Minister of Telangana.
Taking a jibe at KCR's statement that the TDP was not required in Telangana, Naidu said that it was the TDP government of undivided Andhra Pradesh that had built the Shamshabad airport on the outskirts of Hyderabad, with an aim to develop the districts adjacent to Hyderabad as well.
He said that the Outer Ring Road (ORR) was also developed by the TDP government in united AP, and added that he had developed Hyderabad in general and had constructed Cyberabad.
It was strange then that KCR felt that the TDP had nothing to offer Telangana, Naidu said.
Naidu also said that he did not bother about the language being used by KCR, and would focus instead on the welfare of the people of Telangana.
