Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president Chandrababu Naidu today campaigned for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections for the Khairatabad Assembly constituency, which has senior Telangana Congress leader Dasoju Sravan as the Praja Kutami candidate.
Naidu participated in an election meeting in Film Nagar along with the CPI general secretary Dr K Narayana and former union minister Killi Krupa Rani.
Addressing the meeting, Naidu slammed KCR for his "anarchic" rule, and for converting the financially sound Telangana into a debt-laden state. Reminding the people about his contributions in making Hyderabad a global city, he asked if KCR had done any significant work over the last four-and-a-half years which would be remembered.
Responding to KCR's "abusive" tirade against the Congress-led alliance, Naidu clarified that the Praja Kutami was formed for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden. He assured the people of Telangana that he would render his support to the state whenever needed in all possible ways, and appealed to them to defeat KCR and teach him a fitting lesson for his misrule.
Addressing the same meeting, CPI general secretary K Narayana ridiculed the CM for committing political suicide six months before his actual tenure. Reminding the people that statehood for Telangana was achieved due to the efforts of the students, of whom 1,500 had committed suicides, he criticized the TRS for giving the party ticket to a goon Danam Nagender who had beaten up the students who had participated in the movement.
He also appealed to the people to put an end to the rules of both KCR and Modi by defeating them in the elections.
Former union minister Killi Krupa Rani also slammed the KCR government for not fulfilling any of its electoral promises. She asked the crowd if any of them had got double bed-room houses or drinking water or 3 acres of agricultural land.
Questioning KCR's claim that Naidu had obstructed the development of Telangana, Rani challenged KCR to prove those allegations.
Addressing the gathering, Dasoju appealed to the people to give him an opportunity to develop Khairatabad. Criticizing KCR for creating a rift amongst the Telangana and Andhra people for mere political advantage, Dasoju assured the public that the Praja Kutami would create a brotherly relationship between the two Telugu states, and work towards development in a healthy atmosphere.
He also ensured the voters that he would implement his Vision 2023 Khairatabad manifesto plans for the betterment of the constituency, and to make it "the Taj of Hyderabad".
Praja Kutami leaders, AP Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasree, TDP Khairatabad senior leader B N Reddy, TPCC secretaries Rohin Reddy and Madhukar Yadav, former corporator Shaik Shareef, TDP Mahila Wing city president Shakeela Reddy, CPI leader Harinath and others were present during the meeting.
