TRS chief and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today excoriated the Congress for roping in TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, a man who he said had been coming in the way of the development of Telangana and its projects, as a partner for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, and alleged that the Praja Kutami only wanted to "cheat" the Telangana people again.
Addressing mammoth public meetings in Alampur and Gadwal, KCR also launched a tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for carrying out a "misinformation campaign" that there was no power in Telangana.
In a vitriolic diatribe, the TRS boss hit out at the previous Congress and the TDP governments for "deliberately denying waters to the region and turning it into a desert, forcing the people to migrate".
He claimed that the previous regimes had delayed the construction of the Jurala project though the Bachawat Tribunal had in 1974 given the project to Telangana. He also said that the Jurala dam officials had no choice but to bow to his pressure and release waters to the downstream Jurala.
KCR promised that his party would complete the irrigation projects in the Palamur district, and help the agriculture sector flourish. He stated that 1.20 lakh acres in Alampur and 40,000 acres in Gattu would be irrigated.
Chiding some youth who shouted and disrupted his speech, KCR however said that he would take all the necessary measures to resolve the issues of every section of the society including the youth.
Reiterating the welfare and developmental activities taken up by the TRS government over the past four-and-a-half years including 24-hours power supply to the farm sector, Kalyana Lakshmi - Shaadi Mubarak, KCR Kits, Kanti Velugu, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, pensions, Mission Bhagiratha and revival of lakes to boost the fishing sector among others, he said that his government, if voted back to power, would do even more including doubling pensions, providing Rs 3,016 as unemployment allowance to the deserving youth and the disabled in the State, and generally work hard to convert the State to "Bangaru Telangana".
