Telangana IT and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao today expressed deep shock and anguish over the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl at Saidabad on September 9.
The minister said that he had asked the state Home Minister Mahmood Ali and the Director General Police (DGP) Mahender Reddy to take necessary action in this regard, and that the police had nabbed the culprit within a short time.
He also said that justice would be done for the victim?s family, and suggested that the home minister and the DGP take all the necessary steps to arrange for help for the family immediately.
Rs. 50,000 has already been given to the victim?s family by the Hyderabad district Collector for the final rites of the girl, and they have also been assured of a free double bedroom house and a government job for one of the family members.
The rape and murder of the young girl had led to widespread protests by her parents and relatives, and the residents of the Singareni Colony at Saidabad where the victim stayed.
Most of them are demanding the death sentence for the accused in the heinous crime.
