BRS working president and Telangana minister K T Rama Rao said that the Telangana government had filled a total of 1.6 lakh government job vacancies during the last nine and a half years, and challenged the BJP and the Congress to disclose the details of the recruitments in the States that they ruled.
Giving a presentation on the development of Telangana, KTR said that the BRS government had filled 1,60,083 government job vacancies, and that another 42,000 vacancies were in the process of being filled.
"Have the BJP and Congress filled vacancies better than Telangana? We have filled 1.6 lakh government job vacancies for a population of 4 crores. Gujarat has a population of 6 crores and Rajasthan has 8.5 crores, but the recruitment numbers in these States are nowhere near those in Telangana. We have also put up a website with the job numbers. In addition to the government jobs, lakhs of jobs have been created in the private sector as well during the last nine and half years. These are the facts. Does the opposition have the guts to prove otherwise?" KTR asked.
Claiming that Telangana had developed hugely in various sectors under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, KTR said that the State was now number one in per capita income, and was also the fastest growing State in GSDP.
He also claimed that the paddy production has increased phenomenally in Telangana, and that the State had become "Annapurna", a rice bowl for the country.
"And through Mission Bhagiratha, we are supplying clean drinking water to every house. We are currently providing water to 58 lakh families across Telangana. Inspired by Telangana, other States are also following this scheme. In fact, even the union government has started the Har Ghar Jal scheme based on this. Telangana has become a role model for the country by providing clean drinking water to every household," KTR claimed.
