Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy has challenged both the Congress and the BJP to an open debate on recruitment for government jobs in Telangana.
Speaking to the media today, Reddy, along with MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, MLAs Saidi Reddy and Gadari Kishore, and ZP Chairperson Deepika Yugander Rao, said that the BRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had recruited for a total of 1,32,632 government jobs during the last nine years, and had in addition issued fresh notifications for recruitment for several thousands of more posts.
He said that in the BJP- and Congress-ruled States, their governments hadn't filled even 10,000 posts during the last ten years, but the Telangana leaders of both parties were making a hue and cry over the recruitment in Telangana.
Finding fault with the BJP leaders for taking up the Nirudyoga march in Telangana, the minister said that the saffron party leaders should stage protests in New Delhi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had failed to fulfil his promise of recruiting for two crore jobs every year.
"The Modi government didn't recruit for even two lakh posts during the last nine years. The BJP leaders have no right to ask the BRS government about recruitment for government jobs in Telangana. And the Congress, which has completely lost its base in Telangana, is now hitching its wagon to the BJP. I challenge the leaders of both the parties to an open debate on how many government jobs have been recruited for in Telangana versus in States ruled by the BJP and the Congress during the last nine years," Reddy said.
