In a sensational media conference, suspended Telugu Desam Party MLA Kodali Nani, on Wednesday, demanded an explanation from the party president N Chandrababu Naidu about why he was suspended from the party.
Talking to media persons at the party office in Gudivada (of which he is the MLA) in Krishna district, Kodali Nani said that he had not left the Telugu Desam Party on his own, and that the party had forcefully sent him out.
He accused Naidu of sending away loyalists of the party founder NTR to pave way for the entry of his son, Nara Lokesh, into the party. Naidu even plans to make Lokesh the party president, he alleged.
Nani said that he was suspended unilaterally from the party without giving him an opportunity to know the reasons for it.
Stating that the party needs to serve members showcause notices before suspending them, he alleged that the party did not follow the established democratic norms during his axing.
Condemning the suspension, he said that he would question his suspension in the court, and described those who led to his exit as "pet dogs".
He also denied
charges leveled by MLA Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao that he was sold out for Rs. 30 crore offered by YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy. He said that he had never taken a single paisa from anybody, adding that if it were indeed about money, he would have joined the Congress when former chief minister YSR was alive.
He, in fact, alleged that Naidu sold Rajya Sabha seats for Rs. 300 crore each.
He also asked how much money Naidu had received for sending his brother to the Congress' fold.
Alleging that Naidu had back-stabbed the party's founder NTR, Nani alleged that Naidu was eliminating all of NTR's loyalists to pave way for Lokesh to tale over the party's leadership.
Saying that it was because of film star Jr. NTR and N Harikrishna that he had a ticket for Gudivada twice, he said that he had redeemed his debt to the two.
Nani added that he won both times on account of his own strength, and not due to Naidu's charisma.
Lauding Jagan's leadership qualities, Nani said that he was ready to work under him if provided an opportunity to do so.(INN)
