Two of the BJP MPs who won from Telangana have been inducted into the Union Cabinet.
Kishan Reddy, who won from Secunderabad, and Bandi Sanjay, who won from Karimnagar, received a communication from the PMO on Sunday that they were being inducted into the Cabinet.
Reddy, who contested from the Secunderabad constituency in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, won again (he was the sitting MP). He is currently also the BJP president for Telangana, and was the Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern States in the previous cabinet.
Sanjay won as an MP for the first time in 2019, and again in 2024. He had however contested for the Karimnagar Assembly constituency seat in the Telangana Assembly elections of 2023 and lost to BRS candidate Gangula Kamalakar.
The family members of Bandi Sanjay were elated at his getting a place in the Union Cabinet. Sanjay's mother Shakuntala said that they were very proud that Sanjay had reached such a high level in his life. She recollected that he used to spend very little time with his family members, and also that he went to jail many times over public issues.
