The five-day Maha Rudra Sahitha Sahasra Chandi Yagam performed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his farmhouse in Yerravelli village concluded on Friday with the purnahuti rituals.
The purnahuti rituals were conducted under the supervision of Sarada Peetham pontiff Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati, and were performed at all the eight mandapams where the yagam was held over the past five days - including the Rajasyamala, Bagalamukhi, Navagraha, Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvana Veda Mandapams.
After the completion of the purnahuti at these mandapams, it began at the main yaga shala, the Chandimata Maha Mandapam. The rituals were conducted amidst the chanting of "samastha twamey Rajasyamala mataki jai" by vedic pundits. At the Bagalamukhi Devi Mandapam, they chanted "jaya Peetambaradharini, divya vedokta mahaneerajanam samarpayami".
The purnahuti was also performed at the Maharudra and Chaturveda mandapams.
Rao was accompanied during the rituals by his wife Shobha Rao and other members of his family.
