Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao participated in the Sahasra Chandi Yagam going on at his Yerravalli farmhouse on the second day today, too.
The yagam is being performed reportedly for the welfare of Telangana.
Along with his wife Shobha and other party leaders, the Chief Minister performed special rituals and prayers to mark the event.
The entire farmhouse of KCR reverberated with Vedic hymns and the chantings of slokas with 300 rithviks participating in the holy yagam. As many as 200 rithviks performed parayanas to mark the yagam being performed per the Sringeri Peetham traditions.
Vishakha Sarada Peetham pontiff Swarupananda Swamy is conducting the yagam.
Several MPs, MLAs, MLCs, leaders and officials were present.
Sometime during the day, the CM took a break to take a special flight from the Begumpet airport to Delhi. He had gone to attend the wedding of Mayank, the son of Union Minister Harshavardhan, and returned in the evening.
