Hyderabad | 21st January 2019
A five-day "Sahasra Chandi Yagam" started at the farmhouse of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Yerravalli village of Siddipet district amidst Vedic chants on Monday morning.

Under the stewardship of Swami Swaroopananda from the Visakhapatnam Sharada Peetham and with the blessings of Jagadguru Sringeri Peetadhipati Bharathi Teertha Swamy, the Chief Minister, along with his wife Shobha, performed various rituals.

Some 300 seers from various places participated in the yagam. Several MPs, MLAs and MLCs, and the CM's family members attended it.

It was claimed that the rituals were performed for the overall good of the people, the successful continuation of the welfare and development initiatives of the government, and abundant rains with bountiful produce. Prayers were reportedly also offered for peace and prosperity in the country.
