KCR Wants Authentic Survey Of Telangana Families

The CM said at HICC that the door-to-door "Intensive Household Survey" would cover 86.2 lakh families in Telangana, and should not be done hastily.
Hyderabad | 1st August 2014
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday asked officials to ensure that the proposed "Intensive Household Survey" was conducted in a serious and professional manner.

Addressing the officials at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), the Chief Minister said that the ambitious door-to-door survey would cover about 86.2 lakh families living in Telangana. There should be no haste to complete the survey, and information about each and every family of Telangana should be gathered in a proper manner, he directed.

Stating that the survey would help the government in making relevant policies, he said that the findings would ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes reached the real beneficiaries.

He said that every detail coming out of the survey should be available to officials from an MRO to the Chief Secretary, at the click of a mouse.

The Chief Minister said that the survey would also expose the irregularities that took place during previous regimes. Citing an instance, he said that the bogus ration cards have outnumbered the deserving beneficiaries.

As of now, at least 50% of the white ration cards were bogus, and they could be weeded out, he stated.

He advised the officials including the Collectors and MROs to observe caution in issuing different certificates. He said that the government would not tolerate lapses or irregularities in issuing certificates, and that each and every certificate should be issued only after thorough verification.

Speaking about the proposal to distribute 3 acres of land to each dalit family, KCR said that the scheme would benefit about 12 lakh dalit families in Telangana. They would include 3 lakh families living in urban areas and 9 lakh families in rural areas.

He also urged officials to take immediate steps to remove encroachments from government land.

KCR said that the TRS government would not hesitate to take tough decisions in the interest of Telangana. He said that while the government would remain employee-friendly, it would not tolerate any kind of delays or irregularities in the implementation of schemes.

Referring to the claims of private colleges that the government still owed them Rs 1,360 crores towards fee reimbursement, the Chief Minister said that the government had already paid Rs 4,000 crores to the colleges.

He said that several irregularities were found in the implementation of the schemes. He said that some institutions had illegally claimed fee reimbursements through fake enrollment of the same students in different colleges. He said that the government would take action against such colleges after thorough enquiries.

The welcome speech was delivered by Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma. All ministers, District Collectors, Joint Collectors, DROs, MROs and other officials participated in the meeting. (INN)

KCR is acting as if Telangana is a different country! He will end up in jail eventually for being anti national! He has to respect the constitution of India. Most of the revenue of present Telangana comes from Hyderabad. Major contribution to Hyderabad development is due to Andrites!
