Telangana Survey To Harrass Seemandhra People: TDP
If 68% of the tax payers in Hyderabad hailed from Seemandhra, then the Telangana govt could very well offer fee reimbursements for their children, it said.
Cuddapah TDP President Linga Reddy on Saturday alleged that the proposed "Intensive Household Survey" was aimed at terrorising the people of the Seemandhra region living in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Linga Reddy said that surveys should be done by the Centre under the direct supervision of the Governor. However, by proposing to conduct the IHS by itself, the Telangana government was planning to target the people of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, especially those living in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
He dismissed the claims of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao wherein the latter had stated that only 32% people living in Hyderabad were locals. If 68% of the tax payers in Hyderabad hailed from the Seemandhra region, then what was wrong in the Telangana government offering fee reimbursements for their children, he asked.
Linga Reddy said that KCR was preparing for the next elections by making nativity an issue. He stated that it was impossible for anyone to furnish proof of their nativity since 1956, and that the Telangana Chief Minister was playing with the lives of innocent students for political gains, and would pay a heavy price for it.
