Telangana Chief Minister and TRS boss K Chandrashekar Rao's Congress rival in the recent election for the Gajwel Assembly constituency seat Vanteru Pratap Reddy today joined the TRS in the presence of its working president K T Rama Rao, at Telangana Bhavan.
Addressing the gathering after receiving a pink shawl from KTR, Reddy said that he had fought the polls to become an MLA for the development of the constituency. As the people had given the mandate to the TRS and KCR and clearly endorsed their schemes including Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema, pensions for the elderly and widows, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and irrigation projects, he had decided to join the TRS, he claimed.
He also said, "KCR's schemes are unique and very helpful to the people, and I have decided to serve the people by joining the ruling party."
Since the state's development was very important and the fruits of all developmental activities needed to reach the people, and since these was possible through the ruling party, he had decided to embrace the TRS, he said.
He added that both KCR and KTR had invited him repeatedly to join the TRS.
