Bitter KCR Critic Vonteru Likely To Join TRS Today
Although KCR won the Gajwel Assembly constituency election against the Congress leader, the local TRS leaders said they had to toil for over a month for it.
Congress leader and a bitter critic of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in his Gajwel Assembly constituency, Vonteru Pratap Reddy, is likely to join the TRS.
The entire Gajwel constituency is abuzz with the reports that Reddy might join the ruling party.
The joining is speculated to happen on Thursday evening.
However, Reddy himself did not make any official statement on the issue.
It is also being speculated that Reddy will be made an MLC if he joins the TRS.
Reddy lost twice at the hands of KCR from the constituency. In the 2014 Assembly elections, he lost the election by a margin of some 17,000 votes. In the recent Assembly elections, he lost by a huge margin of over 50,000 votes.
Although KCR won the election against Reddy, the local TRS leaders said that they had to toil for over a month to defeat him, and the entire campaigning was undertaken by KCR's nephew and TRS heavyweight T Harish Rao.
Reddy joined the Congress along with the party's working president A Revanth Reddy. Political analysts are saying that it will be a big blow for Revanth Reddy if Pratap Reddy joins the TRS.
