KCR Extends Greetings To People On Occasion Of Medaram Jatara
The BRS chief asked the government to provide facilities to the devotees who flocked to the jatara in crores, to avoid causing any inconvenience to them.
On the occasion of the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Maha Jatara, which is being observed as a historical symbol of Telangana's struggle for self-respect, the first chief minister of Telangana and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao extended his greetings to the people of the State.
In a statement, he said that the Medaram Jatara, which was held once every two years, was the largest forest deities' fair in the Asian continent, and that it was renowned as Telangana Kumbh Mela.
KCR said that the spirit given by Sammakka and Saralamma fired the self-respect struggle that culminated in statehood for the Telangana region, and said that he had prayed to the deities to ensure that the lives of the people of the State were filled with happiness.
He also said that the Godavari Valley basin, which was once a troubled region and was disturbed by the rule of the Union rulers, had now become green with irrigation waters and had brought comfort to the lives of the people.
