KCR Continues To Dream Of Role In National Politics

Despite party getting decimated in Telangana, BRS chief and former CM says he will be in the race to be PM.
Hyderabad | 11th May 2024
BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao today said that if his party won 14 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, he would show the power of Telangana in the country.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, KCR urged the people of Telangana to help the BRS win if they wanted to be in a position to rule the country.

"It is the power of the regional parties that will rule the country next," he claimed, and urged the people to take the Dravidian parties as an example.

"I will continue my journey in national politics. The people of Maharashtra want me to contest. I will make efforts for an alliance after the elections. We will bring about a situation where the national parties will have to support us. And I too will be in the race for the PM post if the opportunity arises," KCR said.

Criticising the BJP, he said, "If the BJP comes back, the price of petrol and diesel will be Rs 400. The BJP also does not speak for the dalits and the tribals. Modi is a bad Prime Minister, and his words are lies. Make in India and Digital India are all false claims. Modi's words are all empty, gas and trash. Unemployment has increased during his tenure. He has done nothing for the country except commit acts of hate," he added.

He said that the BJP would not cross 200 seats in the upcoming elections. "That's why Modi is lying. At the same time, the situation of the Congress too has deteriorated. An alliance of regional parties will thus rise to the level of governing the country. The BJP will get one or two seats in the State. In the whole of south India, the BJP will not get even 10 seats. The Congress will be in the third position with nine seats," he said.

KCR also condemned Congress president Kharge's statement that Hyderabad should be the second capital. "Such madmen should not be given a place here," he said. He also said that it would be wrong to remove Muslim reservations.

The BRS chief also said that the "sunflower gang" (those who joined whichever party was in power) had increased in the country. He said that all those who had gone to the Congress had gone for their own selfish ends. "However, even if one lakh Revanth Reddys come, they can't do anything to the BRS," he claimed, and said that 26 to 33 MLAs were ready to join the BRS.

KCR also said that the name of his party would remain BRS and would not be changed to TRS. He added that K R Suresh Reddy would be appointed the leader of their parliamentary party.

KCR also responded to the phone tapping and liquor scam cases. "There are 100 DCPs in the State. One of them is Radha Kishan Rao. What is the connection between phone tapping and the CM? Is the Intelligence department in the current government not tapping phones? And the liquor case is a political scam created by Modi. Police had been sent to the Delhi BJP office to arrest the BJP leader B L Santosh. Since then, the union government is harassing us. My daughter Kavitha will come out of jail like a washed pearl," he said.
