Ex-Gratia Demanded For Martyrs

M Raghuma Reddy demanded ex-gratia for Telangana martyrs and blamed KCR for provoking students to commit suicides.
Hyderabad | 31st January 2011
Telangana Martyrs Families Joint Action Committee state President M Raghuma Reddy on Sunday demanded that the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee pay a compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs to next of kin of persons who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.

In a statement issued to media, Reddy alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which had provoked students to commit suicides, had neglected their family members and failed to help them morally and financially.

He also condemned the TRS chief for provoking students to commit suicides for his selfish political gains.

Raghuma Reddy also blamed the Congress, TDP, BJP and Left parties, and held them responsible for misguiding and misusing students in the Telangana agitation and playing with their bright careers.

He asked the political parties to do justice to the martyrs' families by mounting pressure on the state government to provide job to next of kin of the students who committed suicides. He said that the martyrs' family members should be sanctioned 10 acres of agriculture land.

Reddy further demanded that the government provide pucca houses for the martyrs' families.
