Former minister and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir today alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had misused public funds to conduct the the BRS public meeting in Khammam.
Addressing media persons at Kamarddy, Shabbir Ali said that the Chief Minister had spent crores of rupees to organise the public meeting of his party, and instead of spending the entire amount from the party funds, the CM had linked two government events to the public meeting to misuse public money.
He said that the Chief Ministers of Delhi, Punjab and Kerala - Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann and Pinarayi Vijayan respectively - had visited Telangana only to attend the BRS meeting. However KCR invited them for the inauguration of the Khammam Integrated Collectorate Complex and the launch of the second phase of Kanti Velugu, and by doing so, had transferred all the expenditure on their visit to the public exchequer, Shabbir Ali claimed.
Shabbir Ali said that the Congress would prepare a report on this misuse of public money for the BRS meeting and submit a memorandum to Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan seeking a high-level probe.
"The BRS meeting in Khammam is the first scene in a long film that KCR proposes to show the people to divert their attention from his failures," Shabbir Ali added.
