The rank and file of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi celebrated the 69th birthday of the party's founder president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in a grand manner across the State today.
BRS leaders including ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other elected representatives organised various programs and offered prayers at temples, mosques and churches, praying God to provide good health and strength to the CM.
They also conducted blood donation camps, and distributed free food in slums, fruits to patients in hospitals and tricycles to physically handicapped persons across the State.
Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav organised the CM's birthday celebrations in a grand manner at Thrill City on P V Marg. Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Council Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, ministers Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod and Gangula Kamalakar, and Rajya Sabha Member Keshava Rao cut a 69 kg cake along with Yadav and launched the celebrations, which including many cultural programs. A documentary on the life of KCR was screened to mark the occasion.
MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the CM's daughter, performed a Rajasyamala puja at the Balkampet temple, and presented gold ornaments to the goddess to mark the occasion of KCR's birthday.
Elsewhere, MP Santosh Kumar along with minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLA Jeevan Reddy and other leaders planted a sapling at the CM's farmhouse at Erravalli village in the Gajwel Assembly constituency, while Aleru MLA Gongidi Sunitha offered special prayers at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta in Yadadri Bhongir district.
BRS State youth leader Aravind Alishetty extended birthday wishes to KCR in an innovative way by using paragliders over the Ranganayaka Sagar Reservoir of Siddipet district. Sporting "Ab ki bar kisan sarkar" and "Happy Birthday KCR Sir" slogans, the colourful paragliders flew around the reservoir, catching the attention of passersby.
Some common citizens participated, too. Farmers from Wanaparthy made a huge portrait of the CM using groundnut, horsegram and salt at the marketyard in the district to express their love for the leader.
Wishes poured in from across the country too for the CM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among those who greeted him. "Birthday greetings to Telangana CM Shri K Chandrashekhar Rao garu. I pray for his long life and good health," Modi tweeted. Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Assam CM Hemanta Biswa, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, union minister Nitin Gadkari, and film actor Chiranjeevi and other celebrities were also among those extended birthday wishes to KCR.
