KCR Announces Sanction Of Another 500 Crore For Kondagattu Temple

This amount is an addition to the previously announced Rs 100 crore.
Hyderabad | 15th February 2023
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today announced a sanction of another Rs 500 crore for the renovation of the Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple at Kondagattu in Jagtial district.

This amount is an addition to the previously announced Rs 100 crore.

The CM on Wednesday visited the temple and offered special prayers to Lord Hanuman. Later, he visited Koneru, New Puskarini, the Bethala Swamy temple, the Sitamma Kanneetidhara and the Kondalayarayudu gutta along with officials and local leaders, and also conducted an aerial survey by helicopter.

He also held a review meeting with officials and elected representatives on the development of the historic temple at the JNTU near Kondagattu.

During the meeting, the CM said that the State government was committed to developing the temple as the largest Hanuman shrine, and directed the officials concerned to design the temple in a way that it resembled the world's best spiritual centres, to attract tourists.

He said that the renovation was a mammoth task, and that the plans should be designed to ensure state-of-the-art facilities for the devotees on the temple premises.

Officials were directed to develop the temple in 850 acres of land, and to take up the construction of a side wall around the temple, a spacious parking area, a pushkarani, an annadana satram, a Kalyana Katta and a koneru under the renovation plan.

"If the facilities are improved on the temple premises, the number of visiting devotees will automatically increase. Efforts should be taken to design the temple as per the Agamashastras. The temple should remain in history as the best spiritual destination in the days to come," KCR said.

Earlier, KCR was given a warm reception with a "purnakumbam" by the temple priests. Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy, Koppula Eshwar and Gangula Kamalakar; TS Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar; Rajyasabha MP Divakonda Damodar Rao; MLCs L Ramana and Bhanu Prasad Rao; MLAs Sunke Ravishankar, Dr Sanjay Kumar and Balka Suman; ZP Chairperson Dava Vasantha; and others were present.
