KCR - Akbar Meet: MIM-TRS Alliance For GHMC Polls?
With the Congress deciding to go it alone, the MIM and TRS are afraid of a division of their votes, especially in view of the alliance between the TDP and BJP.

A day after the Congress Party's announcement that it would go alone in the next GHMC elections, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Monday called on Chief Minister and TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter's office in the State Secretariat.
During the meeting which lasted about an hour, Owaisi and KCR were believed to have discussed a possible alliance during the GHMC elections.
Although both the parties refused to react on the meeting, describing it routine, sources say that the talks of a possible tie-up were initiated by the MIM leader.
The Chief Minister too has reportedly agreed to nominate Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy to take the matter forward.
While both the parties maintained that the talks of an alliance were too premature as the GHMC was yet to conduct a delimitation of the municipal wards, reliable sources said that both the MIM and the TRS were keen to arrive at an understanding for the polls.
The TDP-BJP alliance won a sizeable number of seats in the last Assembly elections in the GHMC limits. The TRS too gave an impressive performance by winning a few seats in the area. Although the MIM retained seven seats, it secured a good number of votes in other constituencies like Jubilee Hills and Rajender Nagar.
With the Congress deciding to go it alone, the MIM and TRS are afraid of a division of their votes, especially in view of the alliance between the TDP and BJP.
Sources say that the TRS and MIM leaders are likely to conduct many more meetings in the near future to discuss a possible alliance. (INN)
