BRS working president K T Rama Rao today said that his party president K Chandrashekar Rao had achieved statehood for the Telangana region by putting his head in the jaws of death.
Speaking on the occasion of the unveiling of the BRS calendar at Telangana Bhavan, he said, "I am happy to visit Telangana Bhavan on the first day of the English New Year and unveil the BRS calendar with the entire BRS leadership here. There is only one thing that we all aspire for - that KCR, our leader who achieved Telangana by putting his head in the jaws of death, should become the chief minister of the State again. I wish that under the leadership of KCR, our party registers more victories and gets back the blessings of the people to the fullest. I also hope that this year gives us the strength to face the obstacles we encounter, and enables us to be happy with our families. I sincerely wish that everyone in the State and the country will always be prosperous and without any difficulty, irrespective of caste and creed."
On the occasion, the BRS rank and file wished KTR a Happy New Year. KTR also made former minister Satyavathi Rathod cut a New Year cake.
Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council MLC Madhusudhana Chary, MP Suresh Reddy, former ministers Malla Reddy, Mahmood Ali and Errabelli Dayakar Rao along with Rathod, and several MLAs and MLCs participated in the program.
In an informal chit-chat with the media later, KTR spoke about the ACB case registered against him in connection with the Formula E race. He alleged that CM Revanth Reddy was trying to somehow send him to jail, and that this was the latter's sixth attempt to do that.
He reiterated that not a single paisa of corruption had taken place in the case. "The ACB's FIR is wrong. Where is the case when there is no corruption?" he asked, and claimed that the AG did not have any answers to the questions asked by the judge in the court during the arguments in his case.
He said that a case needed to be filed against Reddy too in the Formula E issue. "If I am arrested, CM Revanth Reddy should also be arrested. Our legal experts will decide whether I am needed to appear before the ED on the 7th of this month. I have faith in the courts," he said.
The BRS leader also took the opportunity to allege that the Congress leaders were collecting thousands of crores of rupees from big contractors and sending the money to Delhi.
