For the first time after the former minister quit the BRS and joined the Congress, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today launched a scathing attack on Thummala Nageswara Rao, claiming that Thummala has cheated the BRS.
Addressing a public meeting at Paleru in Khammam district, KCR said that Thummala had lost an election and was confined to home, but that the BRS gave him another opportunity by giving him an MLC post and later inducting him into the State cabinet.
"He enjoyed monopolic power for five years in Khammam district but did nothing for the growth of the BRS. Moreover, Thummala claims that I have cheated him. Who has cheated whom?" KCR asked.
The Chief Minister urged the people of the Paleru constituency to elect BRS MLA candidate Upender Reddy once again, and promised that he would take the responsibility of implementing the Dalit Bandhu in the entire constituency if the BRS returned to power.
He also claimed that the Telangana had witnessed tremendous progress in various sectors during the last nine and half years by implementing several schemes, and that renowned environmentalist and agriculturist M S Swaminathan himself had praised the Rythu Bandhu scheme and that even the United Nations had declared that there was no such scheme in the world.
